Essential Duties and Responsibilities:● Conduct marine cargo, vessel, damage, infrastructure surveys, and related audits in the field.● Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.● High performer and a strong team player.● Commitment to company values, policies, and safety programs.● Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.● Produce concise, technically and grammatically correct survey reports in English.● Recognizing potential new business and bringing such to the attention of management.● Pursuing personal development through in-house training, appropriate external training opportunities, and joining professional organizations.
Education & Experience:1. College graduate, maritime college preferred, or the equivalent time in the marine industry with: Five (5) years of sea-going experience in a certificated position, or Five (5) years of experience in the marine surveying field, or Five (5) years of comparable marine experience.2. Coast Guard or Navy Experience a plus.3. Auditing Credentials are a plus4. Vessel and Fleet Valuation Skills are a plus
Working Conditions:● Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, wet, dusty, etc.● Must wear hearing, eye, head protection, and proper PPE.● Some climbing (40 feet or higher, some unprotected), bending, stooping, and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.● Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.● Attend marine vessels in shipyard settings, walking over uneven surfaces.● Enter round manholes with inside diameters of 18”, and other internally confined spaces.● Traverse gangways, ladders, and scaffolding at varying heights.● Examine cargo, including photographing and accessing difficult areas.● Rotating schedule, available/On-call 24 hours, 7 days a week.
